Landscapes

In his landscape paintings, David Rycroft chooses a wide double-square format in which to structure a panoramic Classical Landscape composition. Depth is created using dynamic diagonal paths that lead the eye into the space as well as aerial perspective. These landscapes range from being topographically accurate, painted en-plein-air in the spirit of Cézanne, to more idyllic compositions evoking an atmosphere of spaciousness and vibrant peace.
