In the triptych format, David Rycroft explores two distinct series. The first, juxtaposing three similar vertical images, creates a strong sense of rising and opening. Here, the organic nature of the forms is reminiscent of close-up photography and is inspired by the flower paintings of Georgia O'Keeffe. The second series creates panoramas of flowing horizontal rhythms evocative of landscapes and seascapes. These have a sense of other-worldliness, being at once serene and intriguing.
